ROLY POLY IS FINISHED-
This week I spent 3 hours and completed my game. I was very happy with my progress and how the game turned out. This week I wanted to add music, which I did. I added some music to build the suspense in my game which really makes you want to find the exit as fast as you can. With the music even I felt quite anxious trying to play my game myself even though I know exactly where the two exits are .😅😂 This week I also wanted to add a game over notice that comes up when the player falls off the map at one of the two exits. To do this I created another plane underneath my maze and used a unity tutorial from the start of the year and I coded this plane to trigger a game over notice when the player lands on it. I also did some coding to stop the ball when the player drops onto this plane.
The only problem I am experiencing with my game is that when you start the game the score count goes up to 2 even though the player hasn't collected any stars yet. I re-did all of the coding and this did nothing. So unless I can fix it during the week I am going to take away two stars from the ten and just say that the player starts the game with 2 stars already counted for to help them get as many as they can in the 50 seconds.
This week i am going to spend time creating my 1 minute trailer for my game.
Hey Aoibhe,
ReplyDeleteFirst off great blog Aoibhe was a fun read as I have been following your progress through the semester not only because we are friends but because your game genuinely intrigued me so much I was a tiny bit skeptical about your idea at first but you really showed me so well done. I have really loved following your progress and honestly sometimes when I was stuck I would come and read your bogs and you'd unintentionally answer my own issues with my game. Honestly give yourself a pat on the back because all your hard work really shows through your game and your blogs about your game Congrats.

Hey Aoibhe! Congratulations on finish your game well done!! I love the idea and look of your game and would love to try it out. I have seen a good few of your project blog posts and your game has developed really well since you first began. Your blog posts have been really easy and fun to read and the combination of using plenty of images accompanied with your text has paid off. I actually had the same issue with the scoring system going directly to 2 but somehow it just fixed itself so I guess I was lucky! Good luck with the rest of the modules and hope you're nearly finished your trailer video!
