Reading Task- Planning, Week 14
Today we had a look at how to search databases with Lindsay from the library at ITB. I feel I now will be able to locate articles for my research with ease. Today as part of this weeks task we have been asked to create a strategy for our research and to get organised.
The topic I have chosen for the writing project is Game Design Documents. I feel this is something I know a lot about based on the work we did last semester, and after creating one myself I feel I know exactly how they are made. Another student picked the same topic as me but we have discussed how we will make the texts different from one another. I will be focusing on what a game design document is and what goes into a good GDD.
To start off I created a Mind-map full of keywords associated with Game Design Documents, I will use these keywords when searching for articles on my chosen topic.

I have also created 3 folders on my desktop to make sure I keep my research well organised throughout the process. I took on Shaun's advice and have created one folder for articles that I have found but need to read, one for the articles I have read, and one folder for the articles that I feel will be useful to use for my project.

Over the next week I am going to try and find 20 sources and put them in the "to read" folder. I am going to do this to to organise my time better and have them ready for next week when I will be starting to read these papers and decide whether they will be useful for my project. I am also going to set up a spreadsheet to keep track of the articles I am reading so that I do not read from a source I already have read. I hope this helps me stay organised.
